Residential E-Waste Recycling

E-Waste Recycling

Belson Steel Center Scrap is proud to partner with the County of Kankakee to become the collection point for E-Waste for County residents. If you are a resident of Kankakee County and live in one of the municipalities participating in the program, you can bring your E-Scrap in free of charge.

Our hours are Monday – Friday 8am – 3:30 pm (closed for lunch from 12 to 12:30) and Saturday 8am – noon. While you may bring your items in any day we are open, Saturdays may be the easiest for residents due to lower truck traffic.

How To Drop Off Your E-Waste

When you arrive at Belson, you can drive through the red gate where our truck scale is. Drive around the truck scale to the back of the building and go up the ramp. Please bring a photo ID (Driver’s License etc.) for residency verification. Our employees will unload your items and get you on your way quickly.

Here is a list of the items we accept under the program:

  • Computers and Small Servers
  • Computer Monitors
  • Televisions
  • Printers, Fax Machines and Scanners
  • DVD Players, DVD Recorders and Video Cassette Recorders
  • Video Game Consoles
  • Digital Converter Boxes, Cable Receivers and Satellite Receivers; and Electronic Keyboards, Electronic Mice and Portable Music Players that have memory capability and are battery-powered

If your municipality is not participating in the program, you can still bring in your E-Waste for a $20 charge. You still must bring a photo ID showing residency in Kankakee County.
